I’ve had Easy Street finished since Bonnie released the last clue.  I also quilted it pretty quickly but that binding waited a while.  At last I finished sewing the binding on last night.  The finished quilt is now hanging in my office for a little while for me to enjoy before I decide exactly what I’m going to do with it.  I may have a hard time parting with it – it just may have to stay with me for a while!  Thanks again to Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville for the great mystery!!

Easy Stree Quilt

Well, almost to the end of Easy Street!  Thanks to Bonnie Hunter here for yet another great mystery!!  I’m thinking I’m all ready to stitch these babies together – see them all lined us waiting?

Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear?  A block out of order hiding under there!!

How did I miss that?

Oh well, here are 4 blocks to give me an idea of what they will look like together.

The colors are actually a lot brighter in real life!  I think I’m going to like this!  I’ve decided to back it with one of the greens and will probably finish it off with a purple binding.  No borders for me on this one!!  If you want to see all of the great colors chosen by some great quilters, check out Bonnie’s Monday link-up.

Happy Quilting!!

I’m about halfway through Easy Street Step 5.  The tray with all of my steps on it looks so pretty!!  I’m short on photos for this but here you go!  Check out everyone’s progress here.  I believe Easy Street will be posted on Bonnie’s website until June when she pulls it for a book.  If I were you, I would go ahead and save the steps!  You won’t regret it!

And now for the reason that I don’t have Step 5 complete.  Seriously, I headed to the sewing room to get it all done this afternoon and got sidetracked with Bonnie’s Scrap User’s System found here.  I have 5 or 6 boxes of scraps that I need to organize.  No, I didn’t pull those out but I did want to give her system a try.  I had 1 box under the cutting table that looked about half full.  You know how that is, you throw your scraps in the box, not necessarily neatly.  Anyway, I pulled out what was in there, brought her system up on my phone so I could see the sizes she recommends,  and started cutting.  Here are the pieces that were cut into strips, bricks, and squares.

And these pictures are what was left as crumbs and strings.  I have them sorted by color in boxes awaiting a better storage system.  I just really HAD to start on this.  I like the parts and pieces that came out and I was really impressed at how little waste there was!  I think I’m  going to want to start working on those other boxes soon!  Maybe set my goal to a box a week.  That may be attainable!!

Again, I have to say a big thanks to Bonnie!  She is so very generous in her quilting knowledge and talents!  I don’t know how she does it!!

Happy Quilting 🙂

I’m not completely finished with Step 3 of Easy Street but I’m well on my way.  I decided to try Kati’s (Kati’s Quilting) method which you can find here.  I found that it was faster and more accurate for me than using the rulers.  I did a couple of things different than Kati.  One, which I thought made it easier, was that I strip pieced 2-inch purple strips and 3-inch black and white strips and then cut them to 2-inch units.  It won’t be as scrappy this way but I think it will work out just fine.

Step 3

Cutting Strips into 2-inch Units

So pretty going through the machine!!

There they go!!My next move didn’t go so well!  I cut my aqua fabric and marked one to test it.  This is how it turned out!!

OOPS!!!OOPS!!!!  I had my units opposite of Kati so I had to change the way I marked my aqua!  Glad I made a test unit and didn’t go crazy!!  Easy fix 🙂  and this is what I had…..

Step 3 4

Not perfect but much better!!!

These guys are ready to go!!

Step 3 5

I have enough parts ready to complete 36 units.  Now that I know what I’m doing, I should be able to get the rest of them cut tonight.  It shouldn’t take any time getting them sewn together!!  Uh, that is IF I don’t have any more OOPS moments!!   Thanks to Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville for all of her work on this mystery.  If you would like to check out what others are up to on Step 3, here is the place!!

Happy Quilting!!

Step 2 completed and in the basket!!  Check Easy Street out at Bonnie Hunter has a great website.  Look around and you’ll find plenty of free patterns, inspiration, and her books for sale (  Here are some photos of my Step 2.  Not great photos – my phone thought the purple was blue.  I changed it but it still doesn’t look right……Happy Quilting!!

It has been too long since I’ve been here!!  I’ve been quilting, just not posting!!  I’ll catch up on my quilt photos later but I wanted to post my Easy Street Mystery progress.  I’ve completed step 1.  I actually have 241 units sewn which is quite a bit over what I need.  Some of my black and white fabric looked like white fabric so I made extras.  Thanks to Bonnie K. Hunter for hosting this mystery quilt!  Check Bonnie and Quiltville out at
